Cadillac has invested $81 million to prepare its Global Technical Center to build the Cadillac CELESTIQ. The funds will be used to prepare the campus and purchase the equipment necessary to hand-build this revolutionary luxury sedan.
Building the future of Cadillac.
The brand’s future flagship sedan will be the first-ever production model to be built at the Warren, Michigan facility. Prior to its role as the birthplace of the CELESTIQ, the Global Technical Center served as the brand’s headquarters for design and engineering
All of that design and engineering work gave rise to the innovative Cadillac CELESTIQ. Here are some fast facts about the upcoming sedan.
- Like other Cadillac battery-electric vehicles, the Cadillac CELESTIQ will ride on the Ultium Platform.
- The roof of this innovative EV will be the first model to boast four-quadrant, suspended-particle-device smart glass. This smart glass will enable each passenger to set their preferred level of roof transparency
- In the front-row seats, the CELESTIQ features a pillar-to-pillar freeform display with active privacy, designed to minimize driver distraction.
- The CELESTIQ features over 100 3D printed parts — more than any other model that Cadillac offers.
