Soon, you’ll be able to get your hands on an all-electric Cadillac SUV. That’s because Cadillac LYRIQ production is finally underway.
Ever since late 2020, when the automaker announced that it was investing $2 billion to build the LYRIQ in Tennessee, Cadillac fans have been eager to get their hands on their own electric-powered luxury vehicle. Over a year later, retail production of the 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ is finally underway.
What took Cadillac this long to start building this anticipated product? The automaker had to greatly rework the assembly lines and replace the manufacturing equipment because the LYRIQ is the first model built on the entirely new Ultium Platform.
One of the biggest automotive production facilities in the country, the Spring Hill plant will play a big role in the future of Cadillac, which will release more electric vehicles in coming years as it pushes toward a gas-free future. The Spring Hill production plant in Tennessee is also where the automaker manufactures the XT5 and XT6, which are currently for sale here at Ressler Cadillac.
